Shifa Barzani is a prominent Kurdish political figure and diaspora leader, currently serving as the General Supervisor of the Kurdistan Diaspora Confederation (KDC).

In this role, he advocates for the unity, cultural preservation, and political rights of Kurds living outside their homeland.

Barzani has been instrumental in organizing and leading major diaspora events, including Newroz celebrations in Europe and North America. These events emphasize Kurdish identity, solidarity, and the ongoing struggle for national rights. In February 2024, he addressed the Canadian Parliament, conveying a message from President Masoud Barzani and highlighting the importance of Kurdish unity and the right to self-determination. 

At the 2025 Newroz celebration in Cologne, Germany, Barzani underscored Newroz as a symbol of resistance and renewal. He called for international support for Kurds in Rojava and advocated for the inclusion of Kurdish rights in the constitutions of countries where Kurds reside.

Through his leadership, Barzani continues to strengthen the global Kurdish diaspora's engagement in cultural, political, and human rights initiatives.
