Fréderike Geerdink

Fréderike Geerdink is a Dutch journalist and author who focuses on Kurdish issues and human rights.

She was based in Diyarbakır, Turkey, from 2012 to 2015 as the only foreign reporter covering the Kurdish region. Her work has appeared in international outlets such as BBC, The Independent, and Al-Monitor.

She is the author of The Boys Are Dead and This Fire Never Dies, both of which explore Kurdish struggles and state repression. Geerdink continues to write and speak internationally about press freedom, women’s rights, and Kurdish politics.
