Feryal Clark MP

Feryal Clark is the Labour Member of Parliament for Enfield North, first elected in December 2019.

In July 2024, she was appointed Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for AI and Digital Government in the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology.

Born in Malatya, Turkey, to Kurdish Alevi parents, Clark moved to the UK at the age of seven and grew up in Hackney, London. She holds a degree in Biomedical Science and a Master's in Bioinformatics from the University of Exeter, and worked in NHS pathology services for six years before entering politics.

Clark began her political career as a councillor in Hackney in 2006, eventually serving as Deputy Mayor and Cabinet Member for Health, Social Care, Leisure, and Parks. In Parliament, she has held various shadow ministerial roles, including Shadow Minister for Primary Care and Patient Safety, Shadow Minister for Health, and Shadow Minister for Crime Reduction. 

As an MP, Clark has been active in several All-Party Parliamentary Groups, including those focusing on Alevis, the Kurdish regions in Turkey and Syria, and the Kurdish region in Iraq. She also serves on the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, contributing to discussions on international security and cooperation.
