Adem Uzun is a Kurdish political figure and peace advocate, serving as a senior member of the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK), an umbrella organisation representing Kurdish political and civil society groups.
Based in Europe, Uzun has been instrumental in diplomatic efforts to promote Kurdish rights and self-determination.
Born in Turkey in 1967, Uzun moved to Germany in 1981, where he pursued higher education and became active in Kurdish student organisations. He holds a degree in engineering and has dedicated over three decades to the Kurdish liberation movement, focusing on peaceful and democratic solutions to the Kurdish issue.
Uzun has been a key figure in advocating for negotiations between the Turkish state and Kurdish representatives, including participation in the Oslo peace talks. He has also called for a Kurdistan National Unity Conference to foster cohesion among Kurdish factions.
